SAFETY FIRST. The safety of our employees and pets is our most important priority. We take every precaution to ensure safe travels, including:
1. Pre-Trip Vehicle Inspections
2. We only use well maintained vehicles maintained by trusted, certified mechanics.
3. We comply with Certified USDA Animal Transporter requirements.
4. We do not subcontract out to any 3rd party transporters.
5. We limit drive-time to ensure proper rest for the driver of the transport vehicle.
6. Safe and secure crating options with clean and sanitary crates in a clean and sanitary environment.
No. Not specifically based on breed. We are more likely to limit based on the size and weight of the animal if an animal is very large. We will not knowingly transport vicious animals that might be a threat to the other animals or drivers. We reserve the right to decline transport if any animal displays aggressive behavior at time of pick up.
This depends on a number of factors, but most trips are typically completed within 1-3 days, coast-to-coast trips can take longer. For more information about transit times, see our Service Area and Transit Times page.
Pet transportation reservations should be made in as far advance as possible. Availability may be limited and the sooner you schedule your pet’s transportation, the more likely your spot will be available. We recommend that you reserve your pet’s transportation at least 3 months in advance, but we can do it in as little as 1-2 weeks if schedules align.
We offer nationwide pet transport, but all origin and destination addresses must be within the Continental USA. We do NOT cross into Canada or Mexico. However, we can pickup from and deliver to US Airports and other Ports of Entry, but it requires additional coordination.
Certainly, as long as both parties agree. We’ll just need the both sets of contact information so that we can arrange everything and get all the necessary paperwork completed.
For the welfare of the pets, many airlines may not to accept them as accompanied baggage with ticketed passengers during the winter or the summer months. During these same periods, airlines may accept pets booked as cargo, where there is greater control of the number of pets per plane, and temperatures and time of day of flights.
With commercial flights, you do not make the rules; you do not fly the planes; you do not control the weather; and their processes are often opaque, leaving you to hope for the best. We don’t recommend this mode of transport within the continental US, unless your pet is flying in the cabin with you.
Our primary focus is the well-being of your pet so we primarily focus on ground transportation where we have much better control of many more parameters which allows us to ensure that your pet arrives safe. With ground transport the environment is better, more comfortable, and safer than flying as baggage or cargo, particularly for small snub-nosed dogs (brachycephalic breeds).
If you are relocating internationally, then you often can’t avoid air travel. Contact us and let’s discuss your situation and your pet. We want your pet to arrive safe and we will do our best to assist you with international pet transport options.

We supply almost everything that will be needed for your pet transport. We supply the crate, bedding, bowls, litter boxes and litter, leashes, and filtered or purified water. At a minimum, you will need to furnish a Health Certificate from a licensed vet, your pet’s normal food and a well-fitted harness or collar.
So to summarize, you only need to provide:
1. A Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (CVI), also known as a Health Certificate.
2. Food – We prefer that your pet’s diet remain consistent prior to and during transit.
3. A well fitting, comfortable harness or collar with legible ID tags (to connect to our leash).
4. Medications – If applicable
OPTIONAL ITEMS:
If you want to provide your pet’s personal bedding, blanket, favorite toy or other familiar item that smells like home it will make your pet more comfortable for the trip.
Yes, this is a legal requirement by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) to be in compliance with the Animal Welfare Act (AWA). As a Certified USDA Animal Transporter (Class T Carrier), we have to comply with this requirement and are subject to inspections by Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) to ensure that our paperwork is in order.
You must upload a copy of your pet’s health certificate issued by a licensed veterinarian that is dated no more than 10 days prior to your pet’s first scheduled date of transport. This is a legal requirement.
The Health Certificate should state that your pets is:
1. Free from all infectious or contagious diseases.
2. Current on all vaccinations, listing all vaccinations (MUST include Rabies).
3. It should also state that your pet is in good health and fit for traveling across state lines
Titer tests are accepted. The Health Certificate must be signed by a licensed veterinarian within 10 days of the scheduled pickup date.
We also require that your cats and dogs be treated for fleas and ticks prior to transport so you should discuss this with your vet if you don’t already have a treatment protocol in place.
We generally recommend that if you are going to feed your pet before their long distance ground transport, that you to feed them about 3-4 hours before the scheduled pickup time. This allows for their stomach to settle and allows them to use the bathroom and and clear their bladder and bowels. This is more important for the dogs that are expected to experience a significant of stress from new surroundings. This extra time can help prevent them from getting a sick stomach in transit. Because of the new environment, new surroundings, and new people (transporter) while being away from their owner, your dog may experience physical or emotional responses during transport.
In all cases, we advise against feeding your dog within 1 hour of the scheduled pickup time.
However, you know and understand your dog better than we do, so let’s discuss your pet’s specific needs before transport.
Tip #1: Get your dog comfortable with other people. To your dog, your pet transporter is going to initially be a stranger person. It is a good idea to consistently take them out, as much as possible, to just be around other people and get socialized. Your dog doesn’t need to interact with others and will benefit by just being around others.
NOTE: If your dog is reactive to strangers, then it may be necessary for your dog to wear a muzzle.
Tip #2: If your dog is not comfortable in a crate inside your vehicle, then this exercise will be helpful to prepare them for this aspect of transit. Put a collar and leash on your dog and be prepared to use treats to lure them into your vehicle. If treats do not work, hold the leash and physically go into your vehicle before your dog and encourage them with light/medium leash pressure. When your dog is exiting the vehicle, discourage them from exiting in a fast, excited, and/or erratic motion. Repeat until your dog is comfortable entering and exiting the vehicle in a safe, controlled manner.
Tip #3: Now that your dog is comfortable being inside a crate that is inside a vehicle, take them out on short rides and gradually increase the time as your dog gets used to this experience.
Tip #4: Now that you have a solid foundation, you may want to ask a friend to use the methods from Tip #2 and to get your dogs use to loading into their crate for another person while you are nearby or sitting in the passenger seat of the vehicle. Using that same friend, have them repeat the loading without you around into the same vehicle.
Tip #5: If your friend is still willing, see if they can load your dog into the crate using their own vehicle without you around.
1. Picking up your Pet:
When we arrive to pickup your pet, we will take the time needed to build a little trust and rapport with your pet. Once we feel that your pet has accepted us enough, we will load your pet into the transport vehicle.
2. The Transport:
Once on the road, we will stop every 3-5 hours, to let your pet use the bathroom, drink water, and eat (if necessary). Your pet will never be left alone or unattended. Once we have reached our daily driving limits, we will check into a nice pet-friendly hotel for the night and your pet in the room with us. This process will repeat, until we arrive at your pet’s destination.
3. Arrival at the destination:
Once we arrive at the destination, your pet will stay in the transport vehicle until we will take care of any final and necessary paperwork, as well as verify your identification. Once complete, your pet and their belongings will be transferred to you or the consignee.
All shipments will provide LIVE (real-time) GPS tracking while in transit so you while always know the location of your goods. Expedited Service will provide tracking before pickup so you know when to expect us to arrive for pickup.
We will be stopping frequently, at least once every 4 hours for your dog to eat or have a bathroom break. Your dog will be fed according to your instructions. Your dog will have access to food and water continuously throughout the trip.
Your cat will have access to food, water, and a litter box continuously throughout the trip and will never be left unsupervised at any time and will be checked at least once every 4 hours. Your cats will be fed according to your instructions. Cats will have a litter box filled with fresh litter in their crate so they can relieve themselves when they want. Litter boxes will be scooped and replenished at least once per day.
Usually, we can! However, it depends on a few different factors, so it’s best to contact us for multiple pets. Some questions we will ask is the quantity, type, and size of your pets as well as what transport dates you are targeting?
If we determine that the weather is unsafe to drive in, then we will find a safe spot to park and wait until the weather clears up. You will be notified if there is any anticipated impact to the transit schedule.
We will contact you immediately should a medical emergency arise during your Pet Transport to determine next steps, included taking your pet to a licensed veterinarian if requested or deemed necessary by the driver. We are proud to say that we have never had to stop and take anyone’s pet to the vet and we have never lost anyone’s pet.
